With Small Business Owner Liz from Laila Textiles
Laila Textiles was founded in Spring 2018 by textile artist Liz Mortensen as a creative project exploring slow fashion and natural dyes.
Over time, it grew into a sustainable boutique offering apparel, accessories, and home goods, both hand-dyed in Chicago, IL and curated from like-minded brands.
In Summer of 2021, Laila expanded into natural dye education, starting with classes in Liz’s front yard.
By summer 2022, the brand moved into its first creative studio, evolving into a hub for weekly workshops on natural dyeing and other art forms.
Today Laila Textiles is both a clothing brand and an educational space, dedicated to sustainability and creativity.
